For the second time in a row, Logo decided to sponsor CIGRE, the Council on Large Electric Systems. Namely, in October 2014, Logo was one of the golden sponsors for the small CIGRE council focusing on information and communication technologies in electric systems. CIGRE 2015 was dedicated to all areas concerning large electric systems. The conference was held on May 17-21, 2015, on Zlatibor Mountain, and is the 32nd council on large electric systems organized by Serbian national CIGRE committee.
Logo was the only telecommunications company among the premium sponsors. The company presented its solutions on a stand, positioned in the central corridor, while the Head of Solutions at Logo, Mihajlo Urban gave a presentation on OPGW and optical infrastructure for power substations. Logo also had the honor of introducing to the audience a representative from one of its vendors, OFS – Mark Boxer. Mark is an Applications Engineering Manager at OFS with a long-standing career in fiber optics. His presentation focused on the latest trends for optical fibers used in ADSS cables. Over the past ten years, optical infrastructure has grown into an important part of the energy transmission network. As a market leader, Logo is responsible for continually providing the latest information and for encouraging the discussion on future market trends and topics.
The council hosted 1,000 scientists, engineers, professors and designers from the field of energy transmission who defended 170 papers in 16 expert committees, while the two central topics were last year’s natural catastrophe caused by floods, as well as experiences relating to the 10th anniversary of market liberalization in Serbia.
